Overview
Maasai Mara safari park is one of the largest parks in Kenya, widely considered to be Africa’s most fantastic wildlife safari sanctuary. (also known by the locals as the Mara). Maasai Mara safari park to 600 square miles and 7000 feet above sea level. The Mara borders Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Every year between mid-June and mid-November, the Great MigrationMigration (regarded as the 7th wonder of the world is the most visited tourist destination in the world. However, the MigrationMigration might take a short or long time due to unpredictable weather and short rainfalls. During the animal migration, almost 2 million wildebeest blanket the Masai mara plains, moving towards Serengeti National park. Other animals follow, and when the wildebeest come across river mara, this is the climax. After that, there is no turning back; the lions follow, looking for a catch, while the crocodile waits in the river for a kill.
Though the great MigrationMigration is a fascinating scene, finding the King of the Jungle(lion) is very exciting. Whether hunting, relaxing, or mating, it is a memorable moment. Most visitors to Masai mara have a lion on their spot checklist.
It is estimated about 1000 lion families live in Masai mara.
Wildlife is not the only attraction in Masai Mara; for ornithologists, about 400 species of birds migrate to Masai mara. Masai mara has all and is regarded as the most visited safari park in the world.
