Less than 60 miles north of Nairobi lies a fresh Lake Naivasha along the Great Rift Valley. The name Lake Naivasha originated from a Maasai Name, Enaishapai, meaning the place of many drinks of water.
lake Naivasha is fed by rivers Malewa and Gilgil, apart from other streams of the surrounding hills. Though this fresh Lake receives water from many streams, it does not give out water; however, since it is a new lake, it is believed to have an underwater outlet.
Initially, the Lake was approximately 55 square miles, but it has increased rapidly to 75 square miles and can vary depending on heavy rain. The Lake has a depth of 7 meters and forms on an island with a depth of 30 meters.
The Lake and its surroundings host a variety of wildlife and more than 300 species of birds and fish. However, the uncontrolled use of Lake Naivasha water for irrigation is reducing the water level and raising concerns about the future of the Lake.
Fortunately, with the heavy rain, the level of Lake Naivasha is still increasing and creating jobs for the Naivasha people for the flowers and horticulture farms around the Lake.
A safari to Lake Naivasha can be in a day or combined with a safari to Amboseli or Masai mara.

With the gifts of nature bestowed in such profusion, Kenya remains the first choice country to visit in Africa. There is so much to see, and the difficulty lies in deciding what to leave out of a Kenyan safari. However, after the hard work the incentive award winners put in, they can enjoy a holiday like no other.
In the national parks and reserves, they can enjoy watching the wild animals from the proximity of open-top vehicles, and professional drivers and tour leaders will show them the animals in their natural settings. In the culture, they can enjoy interacting with cultures formed by 63 tribes and languages but live in harmony. Truly Kenya is the most admired country in the world.
The hot air balloon safari is an hour excursion in Masai Mara in Kenya and Serengeti in Tanzania. This excursion can be done in a three-day to 10 days safari, including Serengeti and Masai mara.
You are picked up from your accommodation in Masai Mara and Serengeti park and transferred to the balloon site, where you will be flown to the wildlife plains in Serengeti and Masai mara. The flight takes an hour after that, followed by breakfast in the same wildlife plains. The trip is exciting, and a unique experience as you watch the great migration and other wildlife on air; you also follow the migration path on the air balloon.
The flight takes off at 6.30 am and last for one hour. A chase crew follows and prepares a champagne breakfast under a un umbrella tree, after which each passenger receives a certificate.
The tours and safaris involve the famous 7th wonder of the world, which is found in Kenya. The impressive wildlife migration is based in Masai mara. Thousands and thousands of wildebeest, followed by other animals, move from Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park in TANZANIA. The movement is fantastic, especially at the river crossing point. As the wildebeest jumped into the Mara River, crocodiles waited for a catch as the lions followed the migration. The river is a point of no return; either jump or risk retreating to the lions. The wildlife is too many such that it can take the whole month. Once the wildebeest make a crossing path, they will follow suit till the end. So the tourist is stuck every day watching the game of the crocodile, the wildebeest, and the lions; the opportunist hyena is included.
